It's winning over more and more travellers who want to experience adventure without blowing their budget. In the end, I chose <a href=\"https:\/\/aventure-loisirs-et-vans.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aventure Loisirs and Vans<\/a> that we found the ideal tent, after receiving excellent advice on our requirements and budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We chose the <strong>Na\u00eftUp TriUp<\/strong>, a rigid tent designed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. What tipped the scales?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ultra-fast opening<\/strong> The tent is ready in 30 seconds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A reasonable weight<\/strong> 75 kg, which is still compatible with our Clio 3 (after finding roof racks on Le Bon Coin).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Good value for money<\/strong> compared with other brands on the market.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"lusage-au-quotidien-la-liberte-de-litinerance\"><\/span>Everyday use: the freedom of roaming<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We use it mainly for <strong>itinerant roadtrips<\/strong>, changing the spot every night. Here's what we spent (all taxes included):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Na\u00eftUp TriUp with mattress + under-mattress<\/strong> : 3 373 \u20ac<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Awning + annex<\/strong> : 490 \u20ac<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We took advantage of an exceptional discount: -\u20ac300<br>\ud83d\udc49 <strong>Total tent<\/strong> : <strong>3 818 \u20ac<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Added to this were a number of essential ancillary costs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Used roof bars: \u20ac35<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Double sleeping bag (D\u00e9cathlon): \u20ac110<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Made-to-measure fitted sheet (home-made)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two cushions already available at home<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u27a1\ufe0f <strong>Overall budget for roof-tent equipment<\/strong> : about <strong>3 963 \u20ac<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>(not to mention the little bonus accessories like nets or protective covers - some of which you can do yourself, in fact I crocheted our shoe nets instead of buying them!)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"a-qui-je-recommande-la-tente-de-toit\"><\/span>Who should buy a roof tent?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In my opinion, the roof tent is for :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>those who want <strong>touring without buying a van<\/strong> and without sacrificing their everyday car; ;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>travellers looking for a <strong>back to basics<\/strong>, with just the essentials; ;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>people who like to improvise and move around a lot, rather than stay fixed in a campsite or AirBnb.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It's a \u201csmall\u201d investment compared with a van, but it opens up a whole host of travel possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"mes-conseils-pratiques\"><\/span>My practical advice<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Some might say that you should rent before you buy. Why not, but for a real roadtrip, you also need all the equipment (kitchen, shower, etc.).
